Shears are one of the most important tools of a hairdresser. During a haircut, the blades open and close up to 1000 times. Jaguar shears are manufactured according to strict quality standards to make cutting as relaxing as possible for the hairdresser. Our shears feature:

For production, Jaguar uses state-of-the-art computer-controlled machines. However, even today the manual work of specialists is indispensable. More than 120 working cycles (including several quality checks) are carried out for each pair of shears. A staff of 120 people produce 2,500 to 3,000 pairs of shears in Solingen every single day.

In the forging process, a drop hammer gives our valuable steel its first contour of hairdressing shears. The teeth for a pair of thinning shears are milled even before hardening. Screw holes are punched and drilled in a fully automated process at the round table. During this phase, the forged blank is hardened. It is heated up to 1922 °F before undergoing the ICE or Friodur^® deep freezing process. This process exposes the shears to temperatures as low as -292 °F. This helps greatly improve the steel's structure, and thus increase its overall wear-resistance. The hardened blades then undergo several mechanical grinding processes.

A lot of experience and skill is required to give the cutting edges their final sharpness. One of the most important working cycles is adjusting and straightening the shears. It's an art that only few people can truly master. To guarantee our permanent high-quality, each pair of Jaguar shears undergoes a thorough and extensive final check.
